Dutch BBMRI researchers in top 10 of prominent GWAS authors

Researchers at the University of Oxford and Nuffield College did a scientometric review of genome-wide association studies (GWAS) from 2005 to 2018. GWAS research has exploded since 2007.

The EU is very well represented in the GWAS literature. More than half of the top 10 of most prominent GWAS authors are from the EU. Three of them are BBMRI-NL project members. These are André G. Uitterlinden, Cornelia M. van Duijn and Fernando Rivadeneira. All three authors, based at the Erasmus MC. The authors conclude with 10 evidence-based policy recommendations for scientists, research bodies, funders, and editors.
